Diana Majury teaches in the Department of Law and Legal Studies at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. Her primary areas of teaching and research are human rights, criminal law and equality theory. She has been an active feminist on women's equality issues, including violence against women and girls, for forty years. She is a founding member of the Women's Court of Canada project that rewrites court decisions from a substantive equality perspective and of the Feminist History Society that is publishing books on the second wave of feminism in Canada. She is currently the president of the board of the Canadian Association of Elizabeth Fry Societies and on the board of the Ottawa Elizabeth Fry Society, an NGO that works with criminalized women. |
